This is the first time I hear or read something like that... my dear, your screen adjusted according to your own judgment probably will not show you the real optics of a surface.

The individual book pages are certainly of lower quality than my screen, which I have adjusted as I see fit

You do know that the book pages are the original wallpaper, right?

The best thing is to go to a specialty store or hardware store and look at the books with the patterns there and decide for yourself what you like.
