Split Level solution
SplitLevel is often exactly the solution you need. For some, the costs are not in proportion, others shy away from stairs.
Usually a mezzanine develops, i.e. the ground floor, which is then good for HO or guests, cloakroom, and WC.
Split Level also does not have a simple roof form but usually two staggered shed roofs since the half floors are staggered. Ideally, you have three floors.
What is defined as the ground floor in such cases? The basement, the upper floor, or the entrance area?
According to your drawing, this could be difficult for the building authority or not a problem at all, since you don’t have a ground floor but only a basement and upper floor.
It also depends on the rest of the development plan (heights, eaves). Equipping only the entrance area with a landing is unwise.
How would you have imagined the access for guests in this case?
Honestly: in my life, there is only one access, namely a main entrance. This may then be shared by invited people and staff. I do not plan my house for guests, but for myself. There are plenty of examples of intelligent house designs, even without SL, that separate the entrance area from the private zone so that children don’t hear every noise in the evening or parents are not disturbed by teenage visitors.
