does the child then get the area above the bathroom as well?

Best regards

Don't be unsettled, as a child I would have loved the room with the stairs and the attic peak. Both for younger kids to play, and during puberty as a retreat.

I find the floor plan and the overall concept very interesting, especially because it is not so straightforward.

Above the bathroom, we would like to keep the space open upwards to avoid having just flat ceilings.

For the children's room, we would have almost the entire space above the hallway and the other children's room available...

We will reconsider the wall shift towards the hallway. Thanks for the suggestion [emoji4]

If you include the hallway, the room is more than enough for the toddler phase. They mostly play in the living room anyway. And from age 4, they are easily old enough to use the upper floor as well. How do you want to access it? With a ladder or a small staircase?

I find the draft quite interesting. It’s something different, typical for the architect :) and not at all cramped. However, from the outside it looks more like a multi-family house.

I would change quite a bit upstairs: The dressing room has too little closet space, take some area from the bedroom there so that on the left side two closets still fit. In the bedroom a width of about 4 meters is also sufficient. Then I would stretch the office/multipurpose room as far as possible towards the top of the plan so that the ratio of this room to children’s room 2 becomes equal or similar. I would plan and regard this as an equivalent children’s room. Then put the office/multipurpose room in the area that here is children’s room 1. This area can be kept open so that this passage area upstairs can be used as a common room. All this would have the advantage that both children get access to the balcony and are on equal footing in terms of layout. A retreat for both teenagers can then be the upper room where a chill lounge can still be set up. In this respect, I see a lot of planning potential in the upper floor.

In the kitchen I would no longer plan tall cabinets on the exterior wall and shift the window further to the left, flush with the upper window.

Regards

So now I finally have time to read the posts again at my leisure...

Thank you again for the suggestions! We will definitely take another look at the proposals for the children's rooms...

I also still owe two answers :D

That’s because of the south side. Since the sun is in front of the house (on the street side), it makes more sense to position the house further back – that way the sun stays in front of the house on the terrace. We would prefer a terrace behind the house too – but without the sun, that’s no good either :p

Currently a "space-saving staircase" is planned. This is also noted in the plans – just not clearly visible o_O

From the front side of the house we have now also received a sketch, which we like very much.

That should also settle the window issue in the kitchen, I think... There probably won’t be a tall cabinet there, but the dishwasher will find its place.

Of course, we remain open to further suggestions...
Best regards
