We are considering getting a new kitchen in the next few years. For that, we want to set up a side-by-side fridge/freezer combo separately. While flipping through, I now see about 80% of the appliances with ice cube dispensers. I seriously wonder, who constantly needs ice cubes? I don't know anyone, literally zero in my entire circle of friends and family, who uses ice cubes. And that for over 40 years. So why are these parts on so many devices? If you don't want them, the selection decreases enormously. Another problem would be that the new location wouldn't have a water connection, which you presumably need for that?
Does anyone here have such a dispenser and how often do you use it? Is it really something that enriches your life or just nonsense that gets dirty and pointless as it sits?
