Side-by-side fridge/freezer combo hardly available anymore without an ice cube dispenser

How is it with the volume? Is the device in an open-plan living area or rather in a separated kitchen?

Open kitchen to the dining/living area, we do not hear the fridge. By the way, unlike our previous Liebherr, which constantly started the compressor in an absolutely annoying and loud way .... :)

Does anyone of you have such a dispenser and how often do you use it? Is it really something that enriches your life or just nonsense that gets dirty and rots away pointlessly?

We have had one recently, rather by chance I must say. We just moved into the "transition apartment" until our house is finished. The fridge here is also a side-by-side. The idea was that we could take it with us to the new house so it can live in the pantry. It is supposed to serve as an additional cooler for drinks. For that purpose, we then chose an SBS that also has an ice cube function. At first, I also thought that was nonsense. But now that we have it, I really have to admit that we both use it daily. Our model does not have a water connection; it works with a tank. But of course, you are only allowed to fill water in it.

We have had a SbS with ice cube/water dispenser for 4 years now. We drink exclusively (not 90 but 100%) our water at home from the dispenser, it doesn’t get more convenient or cheaper. For guests, we let them choose; here it’s 50:50 from the dispenser or from the bottle. In late spring + summer, so for about 5 months, I also regularly use the ice cube dispenser. Several times a week for a cocktail, just as convenient and clever as it couldn’t be otherwise. We are thrilled and would never want to miss it again. Cleaning about twice a year a bit more thoroughly, then nothing rots either ;)
