Semi-integrated dishwasher

Good day everyone, In planning a new kitchen we have completed all the essential steps. By far the most difficult point seems to be the selection and installation of the dishwasher. I apologize for opening a new thread on a topic that has really been discussed extensively back and forth. But I don't understand it and, to my defense, even in retail my seemingly simple question could not be answered... I understood that an XXL dishwasher with a worktop height of 87.5 cm fits best with Metod. No problem so far. My wife and I would prefer to use a partintegrated dishwasher rather than a fully integrated one. What I absolutely do not understand (and as I wrote, I really tried) is why it should not be possible to simply mount an Ikea front on it? Can't you just use a completely normal Metod front, shorten it a little at the bottom (i.e. saw it flush), attach the base panel at the bottom and be done? Even when inspecting corresponding models in retail, it was not clear to me why that should not work... I am grateful for any enlightening answers.

therefore the shortened answer: because most kitchen manufacturers have a plinth height of 13-17cm and ikea has an 8cm high plinth, the appliances do not fit. most manufacturers according to their installation sketches allow the installation of max. 65 to 75 cm high fronts. the ikea fronts are 80cm high and therefore extend downwards. when you then open the dishwasher, the door front, which extends downwards by this length, hits the kitchen plinth or the appliance plinth and you cannot fully open the dishwasher.

therefore it is not enough to just take an XXL appliance with a variable hinge, although the chances are good that you can fit them in. which of these are really ready to fit ikea kitchens is listed in another well-maintained and currently updated thread by the user IKEA-Experte. you will find options among the manufacturers Bosch, Siemens, neff and Miele, with minor adjustments for AEG.

"Cutting off" is not "appropriate". ;P

Thank you for the answers. No, I do not want to avoid reading the above-mentioned thread. I have read large parts of it and did not find the answer to my question in the opening post. So again: To install a teilintegrated Bosch XXL dishwasher: Is it enough to cut an 80 cm front with a saw? Or are there other things to consider? Thanks again for any help.

For a semi-integrated dishwasher, you need ERSÄTTARE

What advantages do you expect from semi-integrated appliances? There are fully integrated dishwashers that signal the end of the program on the floor using a laser projector. The semi-integrated criterion limits your appliance selection quite a bit. Are you looking for a 60cm or 45cm dishwasher? There are also appliances that even project the remaining time onto the floor in the base area.

For me, it would be much more important to choose an XL appliance rather than just an 81cm high dishwasher, so you can put tall pots in both the upper and lower baskets at the same time and the spray arms remain movable. Others definitely want a quick program or a cutlery drawer. I think these are all more important criteria than semi-/fully integrated.
