Is the granny flat disability-friendly? (Parents/Seniors)
On the ground floor, the first thing that bothers me is the toilet. After washing your hands, you have to squeeze between the toilet and the door. A staircase in the living area is okay in itself, but your couch can be at most 2m wide, otherwise you block your way. The space will be very tight for 4 people. I also find the kitchen too small and very narrow. Between the rows there is a maximum of 1.10m to move around.
Where should the heating and all the building technology go? Fuse box, multi-utility connection... That won’t all fit in the utility room on the upper floor and does it even make sense to have it up there?
Everything has already been said about the upper floor. Only when you come out of the parents’ bathroom do you have to awkwardly walk around the door again to even get out of the parents’ area.
I would also try a different staircase (from the hallway) or a different room layout on the ground floor.
