At the beginning of the year, we were offered 13 kWp + 10 kWh storage for 19,883€ net and accepted the offer. There is still nearly a thousand in funding for the storage from the state, so overall under 19k net. For about 3k upgrade, we ordered an inverter for off-grid operation. So ~22k net

I had an offer in October 2020 for 9.9kWp and 7.7kWh storage for a bit over 19,000, so it’s not unrealistically far off... Hardly imaginable these days.

I accepted an offer in July: 7 kWp plus 7.5 kWh storage plus backup power capability for 18,700 net. An 800 subsidy and 400 discount are still deducted from that. Obtaining offers took 4 months, 6 weeks for finalization, and in the next two weeks the system is supposed to go on the roof and be connected, with the storage scheduled to follow by October at the latest.

With this, I would like to mention another aspect of using the storage: off-grid operation of the photovoltaic system, or at least emergency power operation in case of a grid failure/disruption. Because then even the fully loaded roof delivers nothing.

This is indeed a very cool option. However, most systems do not support this because their inverters cannot feed anything into the house network without the grid.

I would basically also find the emergency power function a good thing. It is also available as a paid add-on package at Senec. The only disadvantage: The Senec storage systems have an online requirement. After 72 hours without internet, the storage device automatically switches off. So if the power goes out for longer than 72 hours, the function is no longer useful afterwards :p By the way, this is also problematic in the event of longer internet outages.
