And then the storage has to be taken from Senec? What are the prices for this? Do you rent it or buy it?

Yes, the Senec power cloud is only available in combination with one of their storage units. I can't tell you the current price. Of course, it also always depends on the solar installer and the price at which they offer the storage. I apparently got mine fairly cheaply. Naturally, also thanks to subsidies. Reading around, many others have paid much more. With the knowledge I have today, I actually wouldn't choose a Senec storage anymore. There are quite a few disadvantages with Senec that only became clear to me later.

What are those? I am not opposed to energy self-sufficiency. However, you first need additional investments, have extra technology in the house, still incur ongoing costs (subscription), and overall don’t know where the energy journey is headed, including prices. Maintenance/repair/possibly additional insurance… A proper cost breakdown must then include/consider everything, which usually is only possible after a few years.

For example, the issue with the online requirement. Senec basically advertises that the storage system requires an internet connection. I can understand that, as you can also monitor your consumption data on the go with the app.
However, I was not aware that the storage system completely shuts down after 72 hours without an internet connection and is practically no longer usable, and this is not really clearly communicated by SENEC. If I have a problem with my internet provider and the internet is down for a week, the storage system stops working after 3 days. That simply cannot be.

The second issue is with the built-in batteries. Those who noticed this know that SENEC had, starting in March, due to some incidents, remotely deactivated all 80,000 storage systems for at least 9 weeks. Only then did I look more closely into the different types of batteries and would now rather choose a storage system with LiFePo batteries instead of the LiIon batteries built into SENEC systems.

Have you actually done the calculations for yourself? What costs do you currently have? What does the system cost and how much do you have to save every year for the system to pay off? Only in that way can you come to a conclusion.
My conclusion is definitely that I save money with the system.

Of course, no one can see into the future. But I do see now what I have already saved last year and try to extrapolate from that. The unknowns are, of course, the future costs for the power cloud in relation to another electricity tariff and of course any repair costs. If all batteries in the storage system suddenly fail after 4 years, my entire calculation is basically worthless. But those are the things you simply have to plan as risks.
Which costs, for example, are missing in my calculation?

I’ll reply in this thread so as not to clutter up the others any further ;)

Here again is the question… “you doubt”? Have you already made a meaningful calculation for yourself?
Have you meanwhile looked at my breakdown despite the wrong unit values? In my opinion, the calculation works perfectly for me. But it doesn’t have to be the same for everyone.

What kind of tire wear do you all have?
For me, a set lasts about 50,000-60,000 km.
So I run down the current set and put the summer tires on before I hand the vehicle over.

A few months ago, I looked into what I could get for it. This is what came out of it.

It’s with memory now, but I can’t find it without right now.
