Kallax - as already mentioned - has a lot of air and nothing solid in the "walls". The inner area, i.e. the compartments, are made of particleboard. This is not comparable to Metod.

I have seen Kallax painted with gold paint or even tiled or covered with textured paint, as I said, "hacks" give hints if your own imagination reaches its limits.

Yes, you can do a lot with it. But if it is supposed to look somewhat valuable in the entrance area, Kallax is unfortunately just "trash". This is also reflected in the price comparison between Kallax and Metod.

You can still saw Metod, as it is made of particle board, Kallax consists of honeycomb with air.
I just made a sideboard with Metod, but I wonder how you want to create a semi-open room divider from floor to wall with Metod. A cabinet is a cabinet.

Metod can still be cut to size or consists of chipboards, Kallax is made of honeycomb with air. Then Kallax is out anyway and only Metod (or similar) makes sense.

[Besta] and [Platsa] would also be an option, as there is also a configurator for them.
Main difference: Metod is usually open at the back/may only have a thin paper backing, may require side panels, and comes standard with kitchen legs/no top panel.
Just compare everything thoroughly, you will surely find a suitable configuration at IKEA.

You don't have to use the kitchen feet for Metod in this context, but can get low suitable furniture feet, e.g. from So-Tech.
