It simply keeps you much more flexible.. You can change the position of the furniture… or leave it out entirely.. according to your preference. I also imagine it to be considerably easier from a craftsmanship standpoint. If necessary, you could still screw the panels to the furniture for stability.

Hi,

I did it that way and would always do it that way again :-)...

Very cool project - unfortunately it doesn’t really fit our style. But I think we could definitely do well with the panel variant - above all, it would visually fit perfectly into our concept. I also take to heart the tips to set the panels flush with the floor! However, a question here: Are there any reasonable providers offering floor adhesives? Since I have underfloor heating, I unfortunately can’t fasten anything into the floor. The idiot hardware store offers slats as room dividers for €9.99, which are supposed to be attached to the floor and ceiling with plastic profiles and adhesive dots. No idea if that’s any good...

Since you want to build yourself, there are probably no "providers." Take a high-performance construction adhesive and fully bond the underlying slat. P.S. I wouldn't put up with that visually and wouldn't glue the panels to the floor. In my opinion, it looks crappy from the back. And if reasonably heavy cabinet elements stand on the floor, nothing should slide (the panels are also screwed to the ceiling).

Actually, I would find it visually better to fix individual panels without the large slat on the floor to which all the panels are attached. That would look much more delicate in my opinion. The disadvantage would be that I have to fix each individual slat with plastic profiles on the floor and also on the ceiling. I don’t know what that looks like either...

What do you mean by "looks bad from the back side"? In which construction? When fixing with plastic profiles?

A floor instead of a cabinet mounting. And I see it the same way. I consider the individual mounting a crazy idea.
