, thanks for the info. We also received this "point cloud" for measuring back then.

I think €1500 is not too much to ask.

One more tip regarding measuring/scanning existing buildings: The better iPhones have a LiDAR scanner built in, with the appropriate app (I use Polycam) it is possible to scan a house (or property) yourself quite quickly in 3D and surprisingly accurately. The app offers many export formats which can then be imported into other drawing programs. I used it to measure the elevation profile of our property. An iPhone now costs almost 1500€, but can still be used for other things.

Good tip, thank you very much, this makes my work phone still useful (I almost only "phone" at work via Teams). I'm curious what will come of it, I'll give it a try.

Hi everyone,

A quick update from me in between. Surveying via work phone didn’t work because apparently only the iPhone 12 Pro has the sensor. So I took a distance measurer and a tape measure and measured everything from scratch and created a new plan per floor. Based on that, I implemented the different kitchen variants in the plan and discussed them with my better half. It will now most likely be the variant in the attachment (not planned down to the centimeter yet). I would have liked to narrow the bathroom a bit, but it fits directly with a beam that we currently have in the kitchen (visible) and in the bathroom (in the wall) and is directly under the upper floor wall, so for me it is the more logical option to simply rebuild the wall that apparently used to be there.

Parallel to the measurements, we now have a construction company on hand that has a good reputation and does a good part of its business with old building renovations. Additionally, we have an appointment next week with an engineering office and an energy consultant so that we can start planning. The bank has generally given the green light, but we also have another appointment there to clarify the maximum budget, since the last appointment was a few weeks ago.

Things remain exciting... Thanks again for your input!
