Isn't it possible to re-lay the parquet afterwards? Are there possibly any other specialists for that?

No idea. But I fear it will get really expensive. After all, the adhesive had over 50 years to form a probably insoluble bond with the wood. If anything, the specialist would probably have to lift the parquet, clean it, and reinstall it. It will be easier (and cheaper) if I simply "knock it out" during the gutting and then lay new farmhouse floorboards.

Very nice little house with real potential! I'm very curious to see what you make of it...

Why don't you rent out the condo?

Do you also have a floor plan of the basement living area?

Quite a simple reason. I am offered a price for the condo that is simply too attractive (about 75% more than what I paid including renovation 4 years ago). The liquidity is really good. In return, I also receive rent from the rented apartment on the upper floor. I can increase this by 20% 3-4 times over the next few years.

Wow. These really are crazy times. Then we would probably have sold as well

For us, it is exactly the opposite. We bought 3 years ago for 213,000 EUR and could now sell at best for 250,000 EUR. The achievable net cold rent, however, is between 850 – 900 EUR/month.

Therefore, we have decided to keep the condominium and rent it out going forward.

But the second child's room in the basement is only accessible via the stairs in the ground floor child’s room, right? How are you planning to solve that?

I am not solving that at all. The children's room on the ground floor will remain the only children's room for three children. Of course, they will also spread out upstairs in the fireplace room. That's fine too. It must be said that I am only a part-time father, and therefore keeping three children's rooms permanently available would be pointless. I think that in summer they will also often camp outside (the house is comfortably situated in a more rural district – unobstructed view from the terrace over fields). With this layout, they have their separate area and can also occasionally have a girls' party without being disturbed by me (party in the fireplace room, sleeping downstairs). There is another exit to the terrace from the kitchen/dining area.
