I actually don't see a problem at all. Except, of course, in the draft, because there walls are drawn (wall flush) that are supposed to be built for a recessed installation of a refrigerator in lightweight construction. The niche for the refrigerator is then executed in the pantry as a corner. But honestly: you’re not really about comfort (long way through the living room into the kitchen to the pantry) and no additional overhead cabinets where you can comfortably operate refrigerator, oven, and dishes at eye level. Even the glass of water will probably have to be fetched stooping somewhere. So why such a discussion about a flush installation of a freestanding refrigerator? There are under-counter refrigerators after all. Not that I’m a fan of these under-counter refrigerators, but you are consistent in your design, which demands far too many compromises, yet such a detail question – where are you setting the priorities? I know the draft is not up for discussion here now (at least that’s what I think and I won’t go into it), but this question has been on my mind all day!
