I had mistaken, the other 2 walls are, in my opinion, closed. I'm already struggling to think about what to best make the back wall from, so it doesn't look so stupid. You could still let it be covered with vines, but until then?

I don't need them directly. I just find them really cute. But if they like to live among roses or fruit trees – I can arrange that.

Wow, you really know your stuff. You can integrate such wall crevices, right, or is that nonsense?

The garden is laid out. Unfortunately, it's growing a bit slowly due to dryness. But the wild meadow and bird protection hedge are in their third year. As mentioned, now comes the poor grassland.

Yes, recently I saw a lot of small creatures scurrying around in the leftover stone pile from the paving. Mostly spiders again, however. But as long as they stay outside quietly, all is well.
Lizards are rather on the south side of the garden. At the front by the street (where the hotel is supposed to go) there aren’t enough hiding places yet.

For example, reed mats, it doesn't have to be solid. And they also immediately provide shelter for creatures. And please, bees are a must!

Can I use pressure-treated wood for the load-bearing parts or is that toxic for the animals?

phew honestly: no idea, but my feeling would be: better not. Chrome is supposedly no longer in it, but all the other stuff is certainly not healthier either, it washes out eventually, and you have to dispose of it as hazardous waste, so it has no place in an ecological garden.

Bought wood today. The plan is to replicate this:

In the size 70 x 70, so probably a bit smaller and not quite as tall.

Cost: Just the wood and screws over €250. Uff! That doesn’t include the interior - just the supporting frame. We still have roofing felt and shingles. So the bees, beetles, and other buzzing critters can already expect a juicy rent.

Lure them with a graduated lease agreement that starts with a lower rent and then has a long contract term with increases
