I would put a 60 cm deep Pax in 1.50 in the bottom right, possibly with a corner unit. There are mirrored doors for that, so that’s one thing taken care of. If the bench is on the left, you can put a picture ledge or something similar above it at "no longer head bump height" for keys.

Or even better, but more expensive than Ikea: a custom solution from the carpenter. With good storage planning, all jackets and bags are gone, shoes depending on the number as well.

Carpenter would definitely be an option too, at the moment unfortunately I'm still not sure what should go where. I had also considered Pax, and thought about a mirrored door. Then my husband comes into play again, who thinks that's silly... And shoes are not allowed in a closet with jackets because they stink.

I wrote a bit more above...... You could also do something like in the picture with 40mm multiplex, as a bench of any depth with 250cm length or more (sawmill/wood trade, not a hardware store). Then you just put something underneath from time to time. I once saw a leftover glued laminated timber at the sawmill and had it cut into about 4 cubes (€20) and put them under the board. You don’t even have to fix them. Underneath, for example, baskets from Ikea etc. You can choose or divide the height as you like. I always like it when you "misuse" something, meaning nothing from the standard range and therefore usually very inexpensive but stylish. A friend used Ytong blocks and painted them, another placed nice bricks or natural stones. That puts some expensive design pieces in the shade, is absolutely valuable, and costs just a few euros.

The earlier suggestion is really cool! Unfortunately, we like to keep everything hidden behind doors. Although the open solution would allow access to the flaps, so definitely a good idea!
