So, I also checked, paying 102 euros. Insurance amount 82,000, including [Verrußung], all common damages, and bicycles.

Can you possibly tell me the questions about the Bund der Versicherten?

Are the group contracts always cheaper there, so that membership with multiple insurances definitely pays off?

Do they indicate with which insurance company you are insured?

Is it better to insure yourself alone or is it better to do it through the Bund der Versicherten, or is it possibly even irrelevant because both are ultimately equally expensive?

Hello

Well, I have a disability insurance and the building insurance running there and am very satisfied. It is in the nature of the matter that the BdV as a non-profit lobby association FOR insured persons looks out for advantageous and clear benefits in group insurances for its members. And the prices cannot be beaten by the usual comparison portals. As I said, there is the membership fee plus 8 euros for contract management, but the former is even tax-deductible. For our building insurance, which runs through the Karlsruhe media insurance, I would pay about 50% more if I concluded it directly with the company... with somewhat worse contract conditions.

Yes, on the homepage for the group insurances you will of course also find the terms and conditions, benefit descriptions, and the insurer.

What do you mean by "insure yourself alone"?! And expensive? I find it satisfying to oppose the huge power of the insurers, especially in politics, with a consumer-friendly lobby through my membership fee and at the same time be well insured. But I do not need extras like glasses and mobile phone insurance or zero deductible, I want existential major risks insured, and then really without any ifs or buts. And I get that very cheaply as a member there.

sorry for the late response

By insuring alone I meant to insure directly without the Bund

I have never heard of the Bund der Versicherten before.

Until now, we have always been insured directly, we only have the important insurances.

Can the tariffs of the Bund be viewed beforehand somehow, so I can see if it is worthwhile for us?

We are currently (with almost all insurances at Signal Iduna)

The membership fee is only charged once no matter how many insurances you have, right?
Does the Bund provide help if the insurance company refuses to pay?

My current insurances
Car insurance
Private liability insurance for me and my wife

Now building insurance including elemental damage and household contents should be added

Yes, I’m not allowed to post links. But go to the homepage and look for the link under "fair group insurance offer."
Exactly. I’m not sure about the contract fee right now but I believe the 8 euros per year is paid per contract. That only covers the administrative fees at BDV, and in return there is no non-transparent ongoing percentage kickback to brokers or insurance agents for existing amounts – which often influence the recommendation by the seller together with the initial fees.

Yes, they act as an ombudsman and mediator.

Then just check what they cost there. For each type of insurance there are also info sheets from BDV, which conditions are really meaningful in their view, which ones serve more as trendy buzzwords, and which are really critical. In their group insurances this is then almost always 100% fulfilled or bookable. Their opinion almost always aligns with that of other consumer protection organizations. In the end, of course, what counts is what is stored as insurance conditions in the respective group insurance and can be viewed in advance.

The BDV is not a commission-driven seller like AWD, DVAG, MLP etc. but primarily a genuine consumer protection organization and a lobbying association for insured persons. A David against an industry with twelve-figure revenues....

how long have you been with the military. Have you ever filed a claim?

I found many negative reviews online saying that they supposedly only care about the commission and making money, and not about acting in the best interest of the insured.

I'm just wondering what I should do, find insurance myself or get insured through the military?? What would be the best course of action from your point of view?
