So my insurance hasn't changed in that area for 3 years. Nothing has increased. For the car? I bought my car as a high-mileage vehicle for €1400 including TÜV and do many repairs myself. So it's a poor comparison for me. The building insurance was mentioned as an example here. So three days ago we had gusts over 80 km/h. That would have been classified as a storm. But we only need to look at other insurances. Household insurance with glass: Recently a glazed door slammed shut here. The glass shattered. The glazier charged about €500. I wouldn't just WANT to pay that "casually." Of course, you can't insure everything all the time. You don't have to either. As often described, it's a calculative thing. If I start with €140/year, it takes 14 years until I save something. Until then, simply nothing must happen. Damage of €1000 extends this period to 21 years. And if it really comes down to the wire and I maybe have to report the third "trifle" (in % that always sounds great, but for many €1500-2000 is easily half a monthly salary), I'd rather cancel myself independently and switch insurance. At least then I wouldn't be canceled by the insurance. I find it interesting how harshly cold cash is reduced here. The percentage calculation is completely irrelevant at the moment when it comes to actual amounts. Just now I entered the data on a comparison portal and calculated once with €2000 deductible, once without deductible. For me with the same insurance (Domcura) that's about €80 saving per year with the same coverage. I don't need to start calculating more, sorry. And if the insurance increases the amounts anyway, then I just switch. So what? The one great insurance that you stay with forever hardly exists anymore anyway.
