Because of "Fertighaus" I initially thought of a nationwide provider and that the problem with completion with subs at your construction site would exist, where it is poorly networked. However, in your other thread you mention that the provider is a company from the area. That makes me one to four times suspicious.

I can't be held responsible for your assumptions ;). And yet I cannot deny that subcontractors might still be used. I simply don't know... A lot is outsourced, I know that by now (e.g. the aforementioned modules for the sanitary stuff). I'll know when the construction site maybe goes into operation sometime and the first craftsmen show up.

... but you can clarify: is it one of the big names or a local carpentry?

Neither nor, it is a small prefabricated house company that builds about 150 prefabricated houses per year. The name may be known, but it doesn't have to be... (Und tut man hier im Forum auch nicht, wenn man von ein bis zwei Erwähnungen absieht.)

Do you actually save that much by removing the fittings? I mean, was there a specific statement about how much less you have to pay because of that? Usually, there’s some kind of credit or similar when you remove something that would normally be included. Or was it the other way around here (you could have taken it in, and now you just aren’t)?

We are getting a credit for the included run-of-the-mill fittings, but that is not the main reason. The reason is that the whole thing was supposed to be done by a plumber who would have procured and installed these things for us, as is usual. What such a plumber would have charged for the entire house is the item we have always been afraid of when asking acquaintances and also reading along here a bit. You often read that it is two or even three times the internet price . We have two bathrooms and did not exactly choose the standard equipment, so we are probably talking about an additional cost of (estimated) over €10,000. And that is just for the plumber to put the wrench on to do what we can probably do ourselves (albeit with help from our circle of acquaintances), because all the monster work is already done in the factory.
