Unfortunately, we have already come to this realization as well. We still have the option of making compromises or increasing the budget. Or both... We are making an effort. We were already at a few fairs before Corona. But here, of course, everyone tells you they are the best. Kampa, for example, wants to fix the floor plan with us "subject to land" right now, according to the representative it can then be adjusted a bit to any plot. For us also complete nonsense. Despite lacking the land, we are already trying to inform ourselves as best as possible because we have often heard from acquaintances that decisions had to be made very quickly during construction stress between roofing in the snow - sick child - heating engineer screwed up and were later regretted. My example has now stood for 6 years, no idea if this supplier (Merk Timber) still does it that way.

A blabbering representative would be a more serious counter-argument for me than a KfW minimal standard that would exceed my expectations. Simple adjustments require three crucial conditions: 1. possible dimension reductions without creating bottlenecks, 2. the changed dimension must be identical with the ridge axis, 3. no relevant height difference in the building plot.
Excel lists are really only suitable where all decision factors are parametric AND identically named (keyword apples vs. oranges), and in all other cases a devil’s tool! (they raise hopes to structure the overview but produce the opposite, namely increasing confusion up to total lock-in – the end is known from the Sparkasse advertisement “then we’ll just do it again with the little flags”). So better don’t bother yourselves with that.

Have you also already looked at the "11ant Barthel" tips?

Of course :)
In the hope of finding a building plot, or one of the numerous vacancies of the wealthy farmers, we have also joined the local crawling group among other things. We are now richer by 3 WhatsApp groups and various Tupperware party invitations, but we still don’t have a plot.
And even though we are "Zugroaste" in our village, at least I come from the nearby city and we do not lack contacts who keep giving us tips. I also suspect that we will obtain land more likely this way, and not through a real estate agent. Another possibility would be to expand the search radius, but we are not worn down enough for that yet ;) .

Expanding the search radius is also counterproductive, moreover it increases frustration almost as reliably as brokers do; and both would be harbingers of the danger of becoming susceptible to short-sale offers ;-) Have you already followed the tips to the same extent: divorce lawyers, undertakers, care services, and so on? I have long been unable to provide a summary of my Barthel tips, but I’m happy to share more via email "PM".

I’ll summarize it as "making connections" :D So far, nothing suitable has come up, either overly generous old farms or someone was faster who didn’t hesitate to show up with a money case to express condolences at the first tolling of the death bells. Very gladly, I had done that back then, maybe something ended up in spam? I gladly accept the offer anyway and will try again
