Photovoltaic system / heat pump, do you have 2 meters?

We have similar capacities with our system. Our storage is from BYD. You can also expand it individually later if you want. I think we will also do without a meter and run all the power through one. In summer we will take stock.

Heating rods are the last resort because they are the most inefficient form of photovoltaic power use. Therefore, "emergency" is exactly the right word, e.g. in island scenarios where the photovoltaic yield would otherwise have no use.
Why someone would want to use a heating rod instead of the existing heat pump is quite peculiar.

that varies a lot regionally.

we also have only one meter with heat pump and photovoltaic.

That's correct, although the price for the mME is capped nationwide at €20 per year. That is the objectified additional cost caused by the second meter. The heat pump electricity tariff from our local supplier is more expensive than my household electricity, which I found through a price comparison ... so the comparison is worthwhile. Because, as mentioned, some comparison portals can now also compare heat pump tariffs.

If you need a functionally rational argument: The heat pump wears out with switching operations. No switching operations during the sun period promises a significant extension of the service life. Not financially rational: Here we basically only have coal power – balancing groups or not – I want to use as little of that dirt as possible. Better to use inefficient solar power than efficient coal power.

With the heat pump, you triple the efficiency of the photovoltaic electricity. Of course, you don't want cycling; for that, there are modulating pumps, minimum running times/hysteresis. The storage also smooths out, it is very smart according to the manufacturer, you can certainly make something out of that and leave the immersion heater in the museum.
