I also had an appointment with a photovoltaic consultant/salesperson yesterday. He said that you can keep the 2 meters without any problem. Normally, it would make a difference of at most 30-40 euros per year.
Regarding the storage, he said that you either install it right away or completely do without it. Retrofitting later would of course be possible, but then more complicated and accordingly more expensive.
However, I still need to read more about this topic to understand everything correctly.

He is right about the battery. It's not worth it. But if you do it, do it immediately because otherwise you won't have a suitable inverter and when buying as a "bundle" you can also apply the VAT to the battery, which is not possible with a retrofit.

If storage, then definitely now. We are still getting subsidies for it, 100€ back per kWh (for us 1000€ back from 5000€).

Then I'll wait and see if that still fits into the budget. The plan was actually just to fill the roof as much as possible without storage.
