I would not underestimate 100m^2. That is a lot, it can’t just be done over a weekend. Curbstones also still need to be set. We also thought about it - and in the end had it done, especially because there is still plenty of other things to do when building. You then have to accept that the quality depends on the craftsman.

This statement also confused me a bit! Our civil engineer had recommended that when replacing the soil from the construction pit, the future parking spaces (approx. 65m²), as well as the terrace, should also be excavated and filled and compacted with recycled material. This saves you from having to later replace and compact the subsoil and only needs to be topped up with gravel.

Whether we will pave ourselves later depends on whether a friend (who has paved several times) can help us.

We paved 116 sqm ourselves. It was no big deal at all. Something like that can easily be done by two or three people... especially laying the stones goes quickly.
