We also had about 100sqm of paving for the driveway + 40sqm of paving for the terrace and around the house... for that, 2 (sometimes 3) men from the civil engineering company took almost 2 weeks... but that was also with interruptions...

So the gravel is compacted. But we need to mostly build up rather than remove. Only at the front of the driveway would need to be excavated - of course, otherwise we wouldn't be able to drive in right now. My daddy can operate an excavator quite well... But the material - I'm a bit afraid of that too. Without calculating exactly, I estimate about 2 trucks of gravel and the stones first! Mh. This will be tight here.

So far, we have also paved everything ourselves at our house, it’s not a big deal, there are plenty of instructions on the internet. Of course, you need some manual skills and the appropriate tools, etc., but then it works. It certainly won’t be as perfect or as fast as a professional, but then it’s homemade. Best, as Nordlys already wrote, lay down gravel first, then sand/gravel/split on top, and arrange the stones according to your taste. When leveling the sand/gravel/split, you should work carefully so that you don’t have any height differences/waves later on.
This spring, we also have a driveway of about 100 m² to do.

No worries, the questions won’t come
The terrace was done early last summer and the paths last spring. So far no standing water (there is a slope, we're not dumb ^^) and no weeds. And believe me, even if a "professional" does it, weeds will come sooner or later.

Weeds do not come from below either but "in flight". How is weed supposed to come through compacted gravel?
