But also keep in mind that you need more of it. Gravel is more productive when compacted.

I'll chime in here. We also have about 140 sqm to pave and are still undecided whether to do it ourselves with the help of an acquaintance who is a paver, or to leave it to the professionals right away and offer to assist as laborers.

Preparatory work: granite stones still need to be set to border a planting strip, we want to place a paver-compatible cover for the inspection shaft, and we also need to agree on the paving.

It was actually supposed to be Centara by Kann, but we've now heard from various sources about splitting stones. What would speak against stones in the size 30x60cm?

The larger the stones, the better the substructure must be. If the stones do not lie flat, they could wobble and break.

So this also speaks more for professionals again...

Since last summer, we have already installed the substructure made of mineral concrete. The plan was to "only" put gravel on it, level it, and pave.

Split has to be even. So scrape very thoroughly.

I have a quick question, I applied and compacted a 20cm base layer. Unfortunately, there are many dents in the surface of the base layer. If the gravel is then added and has varying heights (2cm-4cm), will this affect the compaction of the paving?

Best regards
