Okay, then you should have a truly comparable reference. We also chose a rather higher-priced timber frame house provider and have been more than satisfied so far. When selecting potential providers, we also placed value on the main office being no more than 150 km away from our construction site.

Accordingly, I assume that you own a [Fertighaus]?

Yes, however we are not completely finished yet. The house handover is scheduled for February 2015.

We are building a custom-designed Weberhaus.

If you are interested, I can gladly share the link to our construction blog with you. It covers everything from A for supplier selection to F for fire brigade intervention at the construction site to Z for cistern so far...

The contributions to the selection process can be found in September 2013, from July 2014 the building really started...

Very interesting blog. May I ask what your impressions of Beilharz Haus were during the selection process? What spoke against choosing them? They are in our shortlist. They are not far away and have left a good impression so far. What speaks against Weberhaus for me at the moment is that they schedule 12 months from contract signing to the start of construction. That is really long. They must be very busy! Smaller, local providers are simply faster.

Hello,

Correct. Currently, a prefabricated garage 3 x 6 in the Rhineland costs €4,588.00, 2 strip foundations €895.00. For Hesse, I simply calculated a flat surcharge. For the rest – except green roofing – I am calculating another €2,200 here.

EL also means own work = material worth €30.00 and painting or laying it oneself. Examples: A client takes "only" woodchip wallpaper for the walls and €20.00 tiles; for a single-family house size 140-150 sqm they might manage with around €12,000. The next wants to paint the walls, takes tiles worth €20.00. Should – with own labor – also be manageable with €15,000. But there are also clients who opt for expensive wallpaper and choose higher material values for the floors, then €20,000 can already be too little. Therefore, I always assume €20,000 as a median value. Upwards always open.

Rhenish regards
