Hessen is quite large, do you really not care at all about the area there? I think that you won’t find such a large property for 500k around the bigger cities.

Such huge boxes lose value in no time. Who still wants to have such a monstrosity tied to their leg with high costs in 15 years? The northern landscape of our country is full of abandoned manor houses. Just buy one and renovate it instead of sealing so much area anew for representational reasons. It definitely represents for me a "After me, the flood, even if it affects one's own children."

I have also thought about the depreciation. The house would have to be more or less out in the sticks given the land requirements...

We will definitely do that. The 150K was more of an exemplary amount. It is important to us not to be somewhere in the middle of nowhere, but rather within the catchment area of the economically stronger locations. We thought that the Wetterau district is on an upward branch, considering the demand that will in the future shift further out from the core of Frankfurt "to the countryside"..

Yes, for that reason we are trying to find a balance between a rural environment but well-developed infrastructure, so that you can also easily get to FRA or other metropolises.

Yes. It would have to and would also be well placed there. Or look for old town stock. There are still plenty of those. I myself grew up in such a dump. I didn’t want to own it myself. The representative effect is really very modest. People nowadays don’t really gawk at such ostentatiously displayed material luxury anymore. You are four, in a few years only three or two. 800 sqm is the size of a football field. That is so exaggerated. The chance to make it “homely” is small. You have to be able to do that.

Personally, I really have no words for the crude decadence that speaks from your wishes. The earth simply does not provide for such consumption for so few people. I lack a real reason for that.

Take a look at Rick’s house that is presented here in the forum. You can see if something like that appeals to you.
