You can rest assured, I have definitely given a lot of thought to the floor plan. Since I have to work physically hard for at least another 25 years, climbing stairs 3 or 4 times a day is a rather negligible problem. Neither my wife nor I have a problem with physical work, on the contrary. My parents live in a similarly sized house and they are not occupied with cleaning and mowing the lawn around the clock. Both of them still work as well. And you can still eat off the floor there :) . The shower on the ground floor will mainly be used by me and my son, since we are both craftsmen and often come home with dirty clothes. Then we don’t have to go upstairs with the dirty stuff first. Besides, sometimes two people shower at the same time here. On the subject of laundry, I completely agree with you. That’s why a laundry chute will also be installed in the bathroom and the laundry falls into a cupboard right next to the washing machine. I go through the trouble with the window because 1. it makes light and 2. it contributes to the overall appearance of the facade and 3. it is needed for ventilation. I would rather not swap the guest room with the utility room, since among other things I don’t want to walk through the guest room when I come home and enter the house through the garage. Storage space for the vacuum cleaner etc. will be created under the stairs. We will also not have so many overnight guests that it would be worth setting up a separate bathroom for guests. However, if that were the case, I would probably do it too, since it would definitely be very comfortable. Your critiques are very interesting. Some aspects we have definitely discussed here for hours, but in the end we always keep coming back to this result.

Well, you can't get any of that from your initial post. The basic questions, etc., can actually be found in the pinned thread above . Answers to these questions help to assess a floor plan. And, if a floor plan is rather unusual, it's helpful to also name the reasons for certain designs .. directly ;) and not first require everyone's brainpower and then react slightly irritated to the suggestions ;) ;)

Why irritated? So far, I think I have addressed all questions and suggestions objectively and actually explained to everyone why we planned the floor plan that way. I don't understand why you are attributing irritated behavior to me because of that?

And I did not ask for everyone’s brainpower, but only those who want to express themselves on the floor plan. And that’s what I responded to. If I were irritated by counter-questions and improvement suggestions, this probably wouldn’t be the right platform for me and I wouldn’t be asking. It is clear to me that the floor plan will not please everyone here. And that some may find this amount of living space exaggerated as well.

Perhaps you could also briefly quote the passages that bother you. Because honestly, I don't really know where the problem is right now.

Well ... I found the last posts a bit irritated and maybe I am irritated myself because I cannot understand why forums are used and not at least in one forum section the pinned threads above are read and maybe even followed. ;) ... That actually also belongs to forum culture.

Regarding the floor plan itself, if you deal with it more, I really see a LOT of space in some areas, which partly feels a bit lost with the suggested furniture and fittings. For example kitchen, my special hobby .. way too much space from the work line at the bottom of the plan to the island. Then huge space up to the dining table ... but on the other hand space under the stairs for the vacuum cleaner ;).

Windows right above the head of the bed wouldn’t be necessary at all in your floor plan. They are hard to clean, hard to reach to open them for ventilation (your argument) etc. Symmetry and absolute alignment of windows is often overrated.

Whether it is advantageous to orient the bedroom, which is used most often, toward the south is the next question.

Did I write anything about physical labor that you emphasize it twice?

No, you didn't! The following is _not_ factual!

Planning????

So it’s slavery after all!

Why don’t you build two showers down there in the room, then you can shower together in parallel

We don’t want reasons from you, you wanted ideas from us!
see here:

P.s. One window is enough for ventilation, and the facade could use some dynamics.

I can't help it, but I find this post a bit annoyed now.....
But be that as it may. If I have overstepped in tone here, I would like to apologize. As a moderator, you are free to delete this thread here, if you want, my account as well. In any case, I will not bother anyone here anymore.....
