5 km/h is enough if the child suddenly rushes outside.

You can't be serious? Children are tied up. Period!

But I know what you mean: Ultimately it’s not about speed, , but about an entrance platform. That makes the driveway pleasantly wide, about a meter wider if the platform is “further back,” but that’s not the case here: here it would be in the middle of the house. Why one wouldn’t just put a carport/garage right there isn’t clear to me.

Which orientation?

Concretely, due to lack of knowledge about the house planning, I can’t contribute anything, but regarding the two options, it should possibly be mentioned that no one is obliged to build a garage and/or carport at the property boundary,
and the garage and/or carport also do not have to have their entrance gate facing the street.
You have such a nice and large property and don’t know where to park your car overnight – a topsy-turvy world – and instead of laying out some plans here, black placemats are handed out. There aren’t even any dimension details of the property with the marked house.
As if it matters to us how big the neighbors’ houses are in relation. The cars, carports, and garages don’t care either. I would say you have your focus wrong. Similar to the assumption that it’s colder in the east at the same latitude. (After half a year, as a reader, unfortunately one has to read everything again, and naturally a lot of irrelevant stuff reappears.)

It’s a pity my advice with the templates wasn’t accepted. Back then, I would have expected one, two, three suggestions to be opened for discussion. At least then today we would already know where the outbuildings will be. But the fearful behavior fits last year’s topic of “people might look into the garden.”

From what I see, I would have cut off a part for a corner covered through the upper floor/roof from a rectangular house in the northwest corner, which extends about 3 meters to the north over a width of one meter. Then a garage with at least 3.50 meters width would follow. You would then have driveway and platform separately, maybe something else can still park there without disturbing, and still have all other freedoms for the orientation or height of the house and a carport.

I like neither A nor B nor the orientation on the property

At A, the driveway is long and quite narrow near the entrance. Possibly B and the carport next to the garage

I don't quite follow. Aside from the fact that, in my opinion, the entrance platform is a much more overwhelming argument, I still find it concerning to drive so close past the front door. But maybe I am overly cautious.

I don't think so.
This discussion has come up before; I feel the same way and would not want that.
