So, we have now received the first drawing based on our sketches from our BU and would like to present it here.
We actually quite like the ground floor. Only the window arrangement is not quite to our liking yet.
We already have a few things that we personally do not like:
EG:
- Either move the single window element on the south side further into the corner to have a larger wall surface for TV/Hi-Fi, or omit the element entirely and instead have a fixed window element next to the double-leaf terrace door. So basically three window elements and then shift somewhat further towards the room center.
- Instead of the double-leaf terrace element on the west side (at the dining table), have two single elements with a distance of about 2m from each other. So one where one leaf already is now and the other leaf about 2m from there towards the kitchen. I hope that is understandable?!
OG:
- Overall, the hallway is too large for us. The question is, does the hallway have to be that wide because of the stair run? Or can the dressing room be made wider/deeper? How much stair "run-out" is necessary/comfortable? Originally, we had a half-turn staircase in our sketch (see initial post). But we preferred a quarter-turn staircase, as it is now included in the drafts, because we like that better. However, we had concerns whether it fits well with the narrow floor plan. How can the hallway upstairs be better used? A larger children's room (south/east)? We just can't arrange the doors sensibly then.
- The bathroom is too small for us. There is too little space between the washbasin and the wall. We would like to move the wall to the bedroom by about 40 cm in favor of the bathroom. Then we will come to about 11.2 m², which would be okay for us. The bathroom in the model house had similar proportions/layout at 10.4 m².
Maybe some general information about the draft:
- The north wall on the ground floor will be covered to about half to two-thirds by the carport/garage.
- The low windows have been deliberately chosen this way. I know some do not like these "loopholes." But we like them. In addition, a public forest path runs relatively close (~2m) along the east side of the house. The path is not very heavily frequented, though.
- I also know that the building window is not really optimal, but we have to make the best of it.
- The T-solution in the upstairs bathroom is what we wanted, but not a "must." We really like it! In that bathroom, we would also like a laundry chute, which is currently planned, too, but the space next to the washbasin is not really optimal! Any alternatives?
