Don’t be mad at me, but I find your argument slowly a bit confused. 20 minutes driving time is ok, 22-25 minutes is no longer ok, even though you apparently like the property with the "long" commute best?! (which, by the way, I would fully favor according to your description) Also, the fact that you meticulously calculate what such a commute will cost over the next decades reminds me a bit of Mr. Monk :) I get the impression that you are totally getting lost in all the weighing up and cost calculations. What does your/your gut feeling say, quite spontaneously and initially without cost calculations? Where can you imagine a home best right away? Because you will always have to make compromises when leading a "normal" life.

Well, the rates are brutal by now. I would really like to save 100-200€ extra costs per month including travel time. Applications have been sent out everywhere and apart from calculating, all I can do is wait. The 20 minutes are a personal threshold after which it gets unpleasant. Several people have apparently already expressed interest in the [Erbpachtgrundstücke] and a selection round will probably start soon, but I think there will be a few more weeks to apply before a decision is made. Unfortunately, I see hardly any chances for us there. I will report here if anything comes up.
