Thank you very much for all the answers!
Okay. The fridge (that's the box top left in the kitchen, right?) is actually positioned pretty badly. If it really stands there, you sit on the couch with your ear on the fridge... Have you maybe been to a kitchen studio before? If it's a good one, they can surely give you very valuable tips. I find the layout itself quite difficult, but I also have to admit that I'm personally not a fan of open kitchens.
Yes, it's going to be a tight squeeze. But you should be able to get more out of it. Have you planned wall cabinets or what should the style generally be like?
Yes, we have already thought about that too. The advantage in the corner would be that a freestanding fridge could stand there and thus no furniture with a back panel etc. would be necessary. Yes, on the wall with the kitchen unit we would hang wall cabinets. We haven't been to a kitchen studio yet. But that will happen.
The same applies to the sofa, where a full "upholstering" is more common.
Yes, our current sofa also already serves as a room divider in our apartment, so it has upholstery. Here we also have an open cooking, dining, and living area. So the sofa pretty much separates the living and dining areas.
I would tend to position the island crosswise, so that there is more space left below for the table. Because you have to walk past it on the way to the sofa.
We had already considered that. However, then the kitchen unit would be even smaller. Also, it could generally become a bit too tight.
What kind of windows are those at the top of the plan? Strip windows with what sill height?
Which ones exactly do you mean? The windows at the front towards the terrace are floor-to-ceiling doors/fixed glazing.
I also find placing the sofa that way very unfavorable. Who wants to be constantly annoyed from behind while chilling? That doesn't create coziness.
Hmm yes, we are open to every suggestion here.
I don't like the sofa in the middle of the room at all either.
As I said, in our current apartment we also have an open layout and the sofa serves as a "room divider." We quite like the open space. But if you have better ideas on how we could arrange the sofa and especially the living wall and still have an open space, we are grateful for every suggestion.
