At your house - based on how you describe the measured values everything is fine. Of course, Pink House is suitable for measuring, but it does not reflect the impulsivity of natural or mechanical noises.

It is as writes: Hearing is subjective. It is normal to be able to perceive outside noises in houses located in a residential area. I am very glad that I have a keen sense of hearing. Through either concentration or relaxation, I can optionally filter out noises or accept them in a way that they do not bother me.

Tip: Check out soundproofing or in-ear monitors from Hörluchs. I had the latter custom-fitted to my ears and love the music enjoyment with them. They seal off very effectively and sit comfortably. Silence instead of counter-noise.

But the house is plastered? Are the windows adjusted?

In the beginning, it was the same with us; I was also very sensitive back then, fresh with an infant, I heard every car.

By now it’s okay, but we have trees, hedges, grasses, etc. All of that is still missing with you.

Well, with wind/noise from the federal highway, the roof of the upper floor can also be a significant factor. Anyone who really values soundproofing will have a concrete ceiling made on the upper floor. Your large window surfaces, especially those around the corner, are also not exactly ideal if you place great importance on soundproofing. And the Poroton bricks would have been better filled if maximum soundproofing was the goal.

Your neighbors either have different wall constructions or are simply not as sensitive as you are.

Even at the highest level of my decentralized ventilation system, I can still sleep wonderfully, which is probably around 50dB. Delicate souls can't get a wink of sleep even at the lowest level of 30dB...

But I must also honestly say that I don’t understand why anyone would build next to a federal highway and then complain about noise? If you sit in your garden on a Saturday and 600m away the trucks roar over the tracks, you would go crazy, wouldn’t you? This will be interesting...

Were those unfilled Poroton bricks? We had deliberately chosen filled 36.5 cm ones back then, among other things because of the slightly better sound insulation that comes with the filling. I think an expert will not find anything else if the trades are executed according to standards. At least the masonry looks very neat in the photos. I cannot see any compressible sealing tape at the window in the installed state, but I also believe that using foam during installation ultimately results in the same acoustic effect.

With us, the noises pass through the Poroton wall. They are simply not optimal for soundproofing.

For which argument? That there is a construction defect? It reads like "normally built" and without special agreements in the construction contract. If the expert does not find any glaring defects, you can't hold the construction company responsible at all. You can only: - get used to the "noise" - for example, insulate the top wooden ceiling from above again - move - consider a clinker facing shell (if one is sensitive to noise anyway and also lives near a federal road, one should have thought more about the choice of wall structure ==> sand-lime bricks with clinker facing would have been more expensive but also quieter) - play the radio quietly in the background at home to always have a noise level so that you no longer hear the outside noise Panes are only one part as well. The proper installation of the entire window and, if applicable, a different installation of the blinds (not as an overlay variant, but completely separated from the window frame) also belong to this.
