I have the Unipor W08 Plan in 36.5cm (they are basically the same as the T8 Poroton). So far, I am extremely satisfied, no noise problems or the most noise goes through the windows anyway. Inside the house, it is not too noisy either. The thick concrete ceiling provides good damping between the floors.
In case of doubt, I would have taken at most 42.5cm for marginally better insulation, but that is probably money wasted anyway.
The 42.5cm doesn’t help... not even for the noise... I don’t understand that around here really 95% of buildings are constructed like that... I wouldn’t take the unfilled bricks anymore either... we thought about it for a long time, everyone we asked said that filled bricks wouldn’t be necessary here in the countryside... no street etc.
In the next house, I won’t do anything else than filled bricks, concrete ceiling, and soundproof windows... I wish better advice would be given...
We were at a local glazier and asked for different glasses for our windows... he has been doing this for 50 years... he asked us why we wanted new glasses for new windows... we said: they only have 32 dB... he said: that can’t be, it’s triple glazing... after a phone call with his manufacturer, he unfortunately had to admit that we are right....
The thermal optimization affects both the bricks and the windows and unfortunately has a negative effect on the sound problem...
As a builder, you think you take the best thermal insulation bricks and the best triple-glazed windows and everything will be fine...
