The real question is whether the OP should buy the property if the landline internet issue is not conclusively resolved or not. If the land price and location are right, I wouldn’t hesitate, unless there are properties like sand on the sea in your region – rather unlikely. An internet solution can always be found anywhere – even if it is more expensive, it won’t be a show-stopper against a good property at a fair price. For professional purposes, everything is solvable. For passionate internet gamers, it will be a problem.

Approached logically: There will be landline telephony. These lines also need to be installed. Fiber optic is not more expensive than copper and offers the provider access to more revenue since more services run on it. So what can happen except that the connection arrives a bit later than the house?

I agree with . Landline will definitely come. This runs over VoIP, so there will also be internet. Whether copper or fiber optic, I do not see in my crystal ball.

Yes, I am in contact with the town hall. So far, however, I have not received any further information.

So fixed network must be mandatory? According to the town hall, Telekom’s statement is that LTE is available with sufficient strength. Telekom also offers fixed network via LTE. I don’t really trust it ;)

Of course, in the end we will not not buy the property because of this. The offer is simply too scarce and finding an alternative in the long run is not an option for us. Still, maybe there are experience values here in the forum about which buttons need to be pressed at which point in the decision chain so that the 21st century also arrives in this new development area.

Fiber optic will come, either 1. Telekom lays some, or 2. a competitor lays some, or 3. Telekom tells BNetzA it wants to but does not do it – then a competitor will come into play – it cannot block this for longer than a year by claiming its ius primae noctis.

I think that there is currently a bottleneck with the fiber optic installers at your place. After all, fiber optic is being laid underground here as well - especially in rural areas - as much as the drills can manage.

It was the same with us when our development area was being developed. Telekom wanted to lay fiber optic under the street, but roughly 2 years after the rest of the development. As a result, it was the local provider who was forced to step in at short notice.

In the meantime, I also thought that there would be no internet. If the person developing your building area is not completely incompetent, someone will lay an internet cable in the street.
