@ Bau.Joe,
I have purchased in the “Siemens für uns Shops.” If you show them the current internet prices, they usually match them, except maybe the last 10-20 €. So they are not much more expensive than the cheapest internet providers. I like to buy there because you sometimes get quite good advice and they also offer some service. I’m happy to pay 20 € more for that.
The shops are available almost everywhere, but often very hidden in industrial areas or on Siemens/Bosch factory premises. However, they are freely accessible and they also sell to "non-Siemensians."
Otherwise, you can almost always find very cheap providers via Idealo and the like. I have never really had trouble with that.
Regarding the warranty. Yes, Siemens devices come with 2 years factory warranty, but you can easily buy an extension to 5 years for 80-90 €. Whether it’s worth it or whether you end up paying more than the kitchen supplier, you have to see. I think 15-20% of the device value for a warranty is a bit steep. In the last 20 years, I haven’t had a household appliance break down that was not at least 15 years old.
And the installation? What is there really to install? I have installed 7 or 8 kitchens myself in my life so far. Just put the fridge in place, let it rest for half a day, and then plug it in; that’s not difficult. A built-in fridge is not much more complex. Connecting the stove? Push it into the built-in cabinet, tighten the provided screws, and connect a nicely color-coded cable with the corresponding colors in the connection box in the wall? Yes, you should know what you are doing, and the terms fuse and current/voltage measurement shouldn’t be foreign to you, but I consider something else to be difficult. Everyone has to decide for themselves whether they trust themselves to do it or not.
If you of course cannot or do not want to do it yourself, I agree with you, then it’s probably better to have it delivered completely with the kitchen.
Thanks for the info, then I can go on planning the glossy fronts with peace of mind. J
Best regards,
Andreas
