No matter if unnecessarily large or generously intended, as long as the hallway is bigger than a children's room, something is wrong. The parent's area for sleeping and bathing is larger (if you take it with the 3rd living area) than the children's area. Our children's rooms are almost 20 sqm in size with 190 sqm of living space.

asked the other way around: Is that necessary? The children move out eventually... the parents' area remains. I would never make the children's rooms that large.

The children live with their parents for about 18 years - with us significantly longer - so why should they restrict themselves during those years? It always depends on the relationship. 140 or 200, 2 children's rooms or 3 children's rooms. I don't find the children's rooms too big, only the parents' bedroom. We removed the dressing room and now have 19 sqm (instead of a cramped dressing room and bedroom). It would also work with 4 sqm less without feeling cramped. The question of what to do with the children's rooms arises regardless of the size. Here the statement is very clear. 1 spacious house for 4 people - later sale and a new suitable property.

The most expensive air...

...and the most expensive entrance canopy in town

So everyone builds according to their own needs. The children live in the house for 18 years, true, but I live there for 50 years. But in the first years, they don’t use the children's room anyway. Certainly not to the extent that 20 sqm are needed. Ours is now 2 and still sleeps with us...

As teenagers, the need for space decreases again. Then, for gaming / surfing / whatever, people lounge on the bed / couch or are out with friends...

The space is effectively used maybe for 10 years. At least that is my experience. And when the kids move out, I have 2x 20 sqm empty, but a tiny bedroom.

Everyone can build what they want for themselves, but 15 sqm for a children's room is by no means small. Not even in a 200 sqm house.

The children here are already each 14.... They won't be living in the house forever (especially since moving in won't be tomorrow).

With this size and especially all the wasted space, the potential buyer pool is unnecessarily restricted.
