Hello Katja, thank you very much for your suggestions.
The kitchen is really very small, in my opinion.
Okay, I'll take that on board.
I think the staircase is also too tight (dimensions?)
The staircase measures 1.40 by 3.50, chosen as a standard size with various treads.
The boiler room is not suitable as a pantry.
For what reason? Rice, pasta, oil, etc. are currently stored in our living room, so what is the difference?
The children’s rooms are quite unfairly distributed.
True, I don’t like that either.
The chimney is too far away from the fireplace.
I have been told that the fireplace can be about 3m away from the chimney. The closer, the better – I understand that.
However, we want to install photovoltaics on the south side of the roof, and I think it makes sense if the chimney comes out on the north side of the roof to cause as little shadowing as possible.
Well, I don’t know. You can build it like that, but in my opinion it completely lacks flair. Quite a big house yet little space in the bedroom, the living room somehow squat and dull. There is a zoning effect because of the fireplace, but at first it seems bleak. You’d almost want to add a conservatory so you don’t die of boredom.
A conservatory is something that mainly causes additional costs. That’s why we didn’t include it. What would be your suggestion to enliven the living room?
I really like both of your proposals.
We are still considering whether to build in such a way that the upper floor can be rented out in old age and we as a retired couple would only live in the ground floor. In that case, variant 1 wouldn’t work, otherwise, of course, it’s a nice concept. Although walk-in closets fall into the category of "rather superfluous" for us. We have no problem changing clothes in the bedroom; I don’t have to go to a separate room for that (I know it’s quite fashionable at the moment).
