According to the current measurements, the ridge from the living room wall is 30 cm towards the terrace. Viewed this way, one could place the chimney "in" the study against the living room wall, then there would be no stove pipe going through the room. But you basically walk into the chimney when you open the door. However, the path of the pipe would not be any shorter either.
This is typical again. The chimney is planned down to the millimeter, but the fact that the stairs don’t fit and thus the whole plan is irrelevant is ignored.

I am here to be made aware of that. Besides, for the beginner it's simply easier to place a chimney than to define the stair dimensions.
