Where and how much could "Father State" actually still squeeze from the homebuilder?
And that from the guy who wanted to pay for his house in cash but still wanted KFW funding...
You know, I can understand that up to a certain point. People who actually still have to earn their money through their own work are indeed not treated exactly "fairly" in this country (in relation to those who are born with wealth).
What I find terribly idiotic, however, is the belief of some—and after your statements, I have to count you among them—that they are not dependent on society. According to the motto "If I put in noticeably more than I get out, the system is nonsense."
You have apparently come into money as a "private person." I assume through self-employment. You of course credit yourself with this professional and financial success. Good for you!
But now you make the same ugly mistake as many of your kind and ask yourself why "the others" don’t do the same. After all, you can take care of yourself. Your health insurance is privately financed, your pension consists of your own assets, your SUV is only slowed down by public transport, you pay for your childcare and their later (elite) education anyway in view of the state offerings, and at least 6 zeros on your account separate you from ALG II or a care cost subsidy.
So why all the taxes? Four-lane highways (without speed limits!) for the SUV, sure! Police and justice—you can never have enough of those... they make sure no Hartz IV recipient plants potatoes in your front yard.
But paying housing benefit for the
single mother’s property tax in the "slummy neighborhood"? Where would we end up? She should work just as hard as you, then the problem will resolve itself!
I know egocentrism is en vogue these days, but when I read how people who have hundreds of thousands of euros left over for a single-family house get upset about (possibly!) a few hundred euros more in property tax per year, it brings a blush of shame to my face.
