And why not? I always hear only how much better everything is supposed to be there...

Of course that's true. Nevertheless, one cannot approve of the current public discussion about the redesign of the property tax - how can one under no circumstances collect less revenue with which calculation method? - But I can already see: the next grassroots movement certainly won't start here in the builders' forum.

Well, starting with the fact that the everywhere cited high salaries are met with massively higher living costs. Likewise, a few years ago there was a significant shift to the right; as a German you are an outsider there and are treated exactly as we imagine here. Earning a high wage and sending the money to the home country where everything is much cheaper is the typical German stereotype there. Sounds familiar to us somehow, doesn't it? I don’t know what it’s like currently, I’ve been away for a few years now and no longer have direct contact there. That’s why I say, much is simply a matter of personal perspective.

Just to bring a bit of reality to the emotional topic of taxes and levies:

In Germany, the levy rate has been stable since reunification with fluctuations in the lower single-digit percentage range. It doesn’t keep increasing more and more...

If you also know that nothing has been done for years against bracket creep, that VAT was raised by 3% at some point, etc., you know who paid for everything to remain "only" stable and not increase.

Most of them cannot express themselves here because they will never get anywhere near assets like houses and land. So they are not in the house building forum.
