I was initially against a cutlery drawer until I saw one "in real life." But then it convinced me. Long wooden spoons fit perfectly, dough scrapers, small items like garlic presses or cocktail shaker stoppers, Weck lids, Weck rubber rings ^^, mini espresso spoons, cookie cutters, roulade needles, and shish kebab skewers... All things that drove me crazy in the cutlery basket. And the basket took up space on the lowest level, which I urgently needed for pots and bowls. I then chose our Siemens machine based on how high the upper basket can be adjusted—so that large plates and lids, as well as tall pots and glasses, can fit at the bottom. There are considerable differences in the adjustable heights.
