So we have had such a kitchen situation now in the 2nd apartment in a row. In the last apartment, we even had the sink under the skylight because that’s just where the connections were. I think you get used to it quite quickly and for the storage space, it doesn’t really matter how well or poorly you can work on the cabinet. So I would only build it like that if there’s really nothing better to get overall, but I don’t find it really bad.

You're right. I just walked through. It's nicer if the corner would also be added to the living room. But the column has to go. (The wall has to go! ...)

Hello Boardies,

first of all, many thanks for your many further suggestions on the topic! I didn’t expect my problem attic to cause such a response here

Thank you for your draft and the perspective drawing of the kitchen! I printed it out right away because I find your idea of integrating the column into a wall very interesting. What worries me about your draft is that the already mentioned separation of private and living areas does not exist like that.

Regarding your question about the calcium silicate bricks:
These were already stored during the house construction for the attic expansion. At some point, the idea came up to lay the stones on Styrofoam for thermal insulation reasons. When doing an expansion, of course, the stones will be removed and the screed will be laid on the concrete ceiling.

@all
I have now collected all your suggestions and marked particularly nice aspects/ideas. With this material, I am going to the architect already next week. Once again, many thanks for all the input!

:
I will address the column topic. I was crawling on my knees in the attic yesterday and took a closer look. I am skeptical that the column can be moved that easily, since there is a piece of exterior wall between the two roof parts on it. But the suggestion is definitely worth it

Best regards,
Flasher

Go to the architect without a draft. The architect is freer in his creativity if he does not have amateur suggestions. You can then have his designs discussed.
