If necessary, via an exemption. It is already the alternative, and I interpret the regulation here as a prelude to the commendable Baden-Württemberg gravel desert ban - not to prevent practically designed parking spaces. The topography allows it here, and thus the parking spaces lie without the usual space consumption.

We will continue to rack our brains, thanks for your input!

In what way is the topography relevant for the front yard or parking spaces here? What is meant?

I would still like to take a look at pictures/drawings of Nodlys' design, but unfortunately I can’t find them. Private messages are not allowed for greenhorns?!

Try using the search at the top right. Enter parking space, parking lot, or golf including membership.

Look at your property. There you see, perfectly fitting between the bedroom and the street, a strip long enough for two cars that is otherwise useless, moreover with a ridge about thirty-something centimeters high. This practically invites you to go there at street level right up to the house and finish with a Frisian wall embankment. Yes, and the second weakness of the forum is unfortunately the search function – but after all, why else did one learn to be a Special Agent:

Many thanks to Special Agent for the support and tips!

We’ll see what we make of it. In the meantime, I will certainly ask for one or the other opinion from the Special Forum again.

Until then

To also contribute once more to the brain-racking orientation question, which of course is very subjective...

Our house also has an east orientation for the living room and kitchen. But through a large window in the hallway/stairs, some light also comes in from the west. We always have it nicely bright and very friendly, thanks to comparatively large window areas. And: we don’t have direct sunlight in the afternoon and evening in summer. That also has advantages when I think of shading.

So: personally, I would be in favor of your plan to face the garden to the east. The view IS nicer than even the most beautiful nearby flowering hedge.
