Network cable in every room?

Da liegt halt nicht überall was derzeit dran.

Oh, I understood that differently. We have 14 double sockets, so 28 ports. Nearly 10 are needed/used (NAS, PC, network printer, TV, music system 1, WLAN access point, music 2, Fritzbox, ...), while the children do not yet own any devices.

Wanted to still provide the count here - it's only 15 boxes with 30 ports accordingly. Ordered a 16-port switch and 20 cables yesterday.

does a double socket mean that one cable goes from the socket to the switch or two separate cables?

Or a twin cable, which is nothing else but 2 cables glued together.

Hi, we had empty conduits installed in pretty much every room. That way, later on, whatever you want can be installed if necessary. Laying network cables and satellite cables in the children's rooms today, when they won't be needed for at least 10 years (daughter is 1.5 years old and child 2 is just being planned), seemed kind of silly to me.

What do 100m of cable cost in relation to the house? Before I get annoyed later because it gets stuck when pulling through, I'd rather do it right away if it will be used/needed eventually anyway.

As a resident: Networking is overrated... we have 15 outlets of which we use 2... the rest is done via Wi-Fi. One outlet per room is enough.
