I have now obtained offers through a platform that I am not allowed to link here, but I found them on an attached picture in this thread. :D I didn't even know there was an "auction" platform for this. ;) There were no regional providers included at all. Weeks ago I had already inquired with a few regional ones; nobody seemed particularly interested in the job, and the few offers were between 5-8k. I have now calculated the worst case with pretty much everything we still have here. I believe it came to about 62 m³ according to their "calculation tool," not sure how accurate that is.

Then feel free to continue reporting about your experiences :)

So far, we have moved 3 times with a moving company. 2 times the employers covered the costs.

The first one was great. They were also in this Känguru association (AMÖ?).
Long-distance move – but small apartment – ~2,000 EUR

For the second, we only paid ourselves for carrying and transport of the large items – wardrobes, bed, washing machine.
They then debated whether the hanging chair - disassembled - actually counts as a chair or whether it should be billed separately.
City move ~500 EUR

The third was again a local company. Great reviews on the platforms. But not in any association.
The "inspector" was also very nice.
In the end, the worst company so far.
They didn’t really feel like working during the move. Scratched our furniture – not properly protected in the truck – and then argued forever if it was an insurance claim or not. -> They didn’t want to report it to their insurance.
Long-distance move ~3,300 EUR

Moving companies regularly dismantle and assemble furniture, but also kitchens. If you happen to have such a job to assign at the destination ...

.. it would also make sense to specify the year and the actual quantity (in cubic meters instead of "small apartment") in which the respective price was valid. For example, the minimum wage alone has increased from 8.50 euros in 2015 to 10.45 euros as of July 2022, even 12 euros as of October 2022, which is likely to have quite a few effects in this area.

Correct :) 2011 - 50sqm - under 20 cubic meters - ~2k EUR 2015 - 70sqm - mostly self; estimate max. 10 cubic meters - ~500 EUR 2018 - 100sqm - 50-60 cubic meters - ~3.3k EUR

We moved about 600km a little over two years ago. We wanted to include packing and furniture dismantling, since you can basically live normally until the day of the move. Because I was already living at the new place during the week due to a new job, that was worth gold with children.

We found the company through one of the auction websites. It was then somewhere between 3k and 4k. That wasn’t the cheapest offer, but as it turned out, maybe still too cheap.

The move was an absolute horror. Instead of 8 a.m., they came at 3 p.m. Three of them. For a 110sqm apartment. The driver then also had to sleep first to comply with his driving hours. In the end, two of them worked until 3 a.m. They only did it as a side job.

They then drove straight on and unloaded again in the afternoon. Completely crazy. Not everything fit, so I had to rent a sprinter again.

I can only recommend a local reputable company that can check it out beforehand. In the end, we survived it, but it was pure stress.
