I've now gotten a few quotes and am between 3.5-4k. What do you think? I'm leaning towards having it done after all. Sure, you save a lot if you do it yourself, but with a small child, it's less stressful this way.

So if I had to choose between a moving company and a new kitchen for the transitional apartment, the decision would be more than easy for me.

I don't have to choose. In both cases, it is a "do I want to take the money in my hand or not" decision.

When moving, manpower is the crucial factor.
If you can get 4-5 people from your family up to you, it can be fun.
You do a lot of prep work, everything is packed into boxes and the furniture is already taken apart, etc.
Then it’s done in one weekend.
If you can’t manage that or find too few helpers, it will be tough. It’s possible, but it means extremely long days for the few people involved. Then there’s the long drive in between, which makes it borderline to be tired.
Better to take out the money and consider it a good investment.
Besides, I think your approach to sell/dispose of as much as possible on site is smart, regardless of how the move is ultimately carried out.

Yes, that's the plan anyway. And you also describe well the reason why we probably tend towards a company. We don't have the manpower here, and I don't want to impose that on my family. They are not so young anymore, don't have endlessly filled vacation accounts, and down there they are already finishing the living spaces as best they can for us. Clearing out, bulky waste, wallpapering, etc. There is a lot to do. And the insurance (in case of emergency) that a company has also appeals to me. If something breaks at the house privately, then we have to fix it.

Are there regional offers included as well? And which ones: from your future or current place of residence?

And what did you specify? A complete list of your current equipment? Or already “slimmed down”?

We’ve also planned 3-4k for the move. It would be nice if it stayed that way :)
