With me? Really? Email or PM? I don’t remember at all. :)

I’m not confident enough to move entirely on my own anymore either. We’ve already decluttered a lot using KonMari, but still an already furnished house with >150m2, that’s not a student household. That definitely adds up.
Feel free to send me the company via PM if you don’t want to name it here (I actually can’t tell you whether that’s allowed either).

Since I don't have enough posts for PM yet, I'm sending you an email (WordPress). But yes, after the completely self-organized move to East Frisia, we didn't want to go through that a second time. My parents were also not as motivated anymore, especially since they were the ones who were stopped by the police back then and had to spend the night in the gas station parking lot.

As always, there is everything between zero and one hundred here as well.
For a 500km move via myh..., we had great people at the time, all craftsmen, and for a bargain price to the extent that we voluntarily added something on top. They loaded in the evening, then spent the night, and the next morning they left with a worn-out truck from a furniture store. Apparently, there is no fixed ritual, but it is always decided situationally.
It particularly depends on what you want or what you do NOT want. A so-called professional moving company is, in my opinion, by no means a guarantee for better service; recently, our floor and some furniture were heavily scratched by "professionals," whereas the student group did a perfect job. Often it is also the case that a group rents the necessary vehicle themselves.
The local providers will probably be too expensive for you, so I would definitely post it online through the usual channels and be surprised. I have already had all sorts of things transported and am always amazed at who is driving what where on our roads nowadays, all at wildly different prices and services.
In direct conversation, the "how" may also emerge for you, or whether and what sensible services you can contribute yourself. It is probably like selling a house; it only gradually becomes clear how the move will take place.

We had also advertised it back then through such a moving portal and additionally contacted regional providers. Through the portal, we received two offers of about 2000 euros (one slightly below and one slightly above) and then three offers of about 3000 euros. The regional providers were all around 4000 euros. We then decided on the second cheapest company because, unlike the cheapest company, they only had positive reviews. They came on a Sunday morning with three men and shortly after noon everything was loaded. On Monday morning they unloaded everything here in Bavaria again and placed it according to our instructions. Around noon they were gone again. We were really amazed at how straightforward everything went, especially because we had a lot of stuff.

How far was the move back then? For us, a few pieces of furniture also need to be assembled and disassembled (actually just the bed and the bedroom wardrobe), and lamps need to be mounted and dismounted.

That’s no problem if agreed beforehand. Moving containers from overseas with disassembled furniture are assembled quickly by professionals. Everyone in Germany has Ikea anyway, like in the GDR, only the brand has changed ;) anyone can assemble that.
