L-stones directly at the neighbor's fence?

I don’t believe that in all residential areas where a lot of new construction takes place everyone talks to all neighbors when it comes to their own garden. For example, if I end up at an elevated level, why should one coordinate? It’s basically the same if you are 20cm higher, for example.

You are absolutely right! I also find this "talking with neighbors" completely overrated - especially in times of community forums [emoji23][emoji41]

Please don't get me wrong. I will say it ten more times - we talk to neighbors anyway and obviously we want to have a good relationship, BUT:

Why should I discuss my planning and possibilities with 3 neighbors together from the very beginning??

attached is a rough sketch in a side section.. Maybe this makes it a bit clearer. As it is sketched there, we don’t like 2 things, even if that would be the solution that the neighbor probably wouldn’t care about:

1. About 80cm between terrace and lawn
2. This small ditch between the end of the lawn and the fence that somehow needs to be retained and then basically a hedge or something in the ditch.

The way you drew it would be a good option. However, I wouldn’t use L-bricks there, but rather set edge stones in mortar/dry mortar (basically what a landscape gardener uses). The neighbor won’t see a shabby wall and the distance to the boundary would also be guaranteed. Regards, Yvonne

The drawing looks good. I would like an elevated terrace!
