Our wishes are certainly not being addressed with this:
1. A certain visual and perceived separation between kitchen and living area
2. Not having to sit entirely in the kitchen
3. Placing dishes on the left side
4. Not moving the kitchen window

Instead, we have gained plenty of space to bustle around, which we at least did not wish for.

And yet the room has this dimension and cannot be changed.

Unfortunately not, but one always has the option to furnish more sparingly.

The problem is not entirely clear to me. Either we sit at the table and eat, so that no one has to constantly walk through somewhere, or the chairs are pushed in and we can get everywhere. It is not a city villa, as matte1987 pointed out.

The external dimensions had to be frozen quickly at that time in order not to jeopardize the further planning process. Today, it can be said with confidence that one could have taken the two weeks at that time.

We are not the wish fulfillers either

You could also have simply given more respect to our concerns. That would not have taken two weeks.
Well, would, if and but

But basically you can connect this discussion to the old one; in my opinion, nothing changes about the situation that the 8.4 does not fit your/your ideas. A widening, as you saw it back then, would not have helped either, since a kitchen does not become more functional the longer it is.
What good is it if problems are openly presented in time, and you as the original poster dismiss them as insignificant.

Think small: a small table for the family, when guests come you go out to eat or get an adjustable-height coffee table

Or the other way around: what is already built and what could be integrated from this open hallway into the living area. Although: the location of the wastewater is probably already set?

Honestly, with the floor plan, I would draw a wall about 2/3 high, say 2.5 meters long, roughly in the middle (vertical) – against that I would place the dining area with a bench. I would refrain from having a counter.

There is no problem. It has to please you. I meant that the room is accessed in the middle and the table inevitably stands in this axis of view in every variant. Or am I mistaken? I still have to take a closer look at the floor plan on the computer later. Best regards
